Art Club Officer Positions

Well, the votes are in.  Unfortunately, it did not make it into tomorrow's Daily Bulletin, so I will make sure it goes in Friday's.  Upon further thought, I decided to add Assistant positions, which went to the candidate with the second highest number of votes.  It's always good to have a few extra thoughts on matters, as well as a back-up if someone cannot make it to a meeting.

Art Director - Bill Ehli
Assistant Art Director - Elexis Torres

Creative Director - Trent Rommel
Assistant Creative Director - Kenny Strain

Producer - Rebecca Kokoszka
Assistant Producers - Brooke Donnell & Joe Earhart

Of course all of these are pending the candidates' acceptance of the position.  I would also like to meet with the officers sometime before our next meeting to go over duties and expectations.  Thank you all for your votes.  And we will see you on Wednesday, October 15th.

Destructed Bicycle Still-life

The goal is to create an accurate and detailed drawing of the bicycles in the center of the Studio. We have covered a lot of ground since the beginning of the year, and you are all quickly becoming very capable artists...DO NOT FORGET WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED.

The drawing should have a pleasing composition that fills the page, as well as a pleasing arrangement of Positive Shape and Negative Space.  There are no requirements as to HOW you should complete this drawing, only that it must be the best drawing that you can do.  If you want to use the viewfinder with the marker, do so.  If you would rather draw directly on the paper, do so.  The choice is yours, you have learned much, and it is now time to start putting it into practice in a way that is comfortable to you.  Again, no matter how you choose to complete this drawing, it must look just as good if not better than the drawings you have completed so far.

Well, I suppose we're live...

Welcome to the new "official" website for Caesar Rodney High School's Art program.  While this blog is not intended to be a permanent fixture, it will certainly help to smooth the transition as I learn my way around web publishing.

It is my intent that this site will be used as a hub of information for all those enrolled in an Art class at the high school, as well as those students who are involved with the Art Club.  I will be posting assignments, deadlines, photo references and examples, notes, and anything else that I feel might be useful to the aspiring artists of our school.

I look forward to watching the site grow, and appreciate any comments and feedback for suggestions to help us grow.
